What are cordless roller shades?
They are roller shades with no cord or chain hanging down. You raise and lower the shade by hand instead. Many people call them cordless blinds. The window looks cleaner, and there is no cord to tangle. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission says cordless is the safest choice when young children are around.
How do I raise and lower a cordless shade?
Pull the bottom bar down to lower the shade. Push it up to raise it. The bottom bar is the bar along the bottom edge of the shade. It stays where you let go, so you can stop it at any height.
Do I need a drill to put them up?
Not if you choose no-drill. Anyone can put one up in about 10 minutes, with no drill, no tools and no installer. When you move out, there are no holes to patch. Our wall-mounted shades are cordless too, but they need a drill.
Is cordless the same as no-drill?
No. Cordless is how you raise and lower the shade. No-drill is how you put it up. They are two separate choices, and you can pick both.
How tall can a cordless shade be?
Up to 86 1/2 inches tall, and from 19 3/4 to 78 5/8 inches wide. For a taller window, choose Motorized. It goes up to 94 3/8 inches tall.
Can I get a motorized shade instead?
Yes. Every shade comes Cordless or Motorized. A motorized shade goes up and down with a remote, and one remote can run several shades. Remotes are sold separately. It charges with a cable, but nothing hangs down to pull.
